We are thrilled to announce the successful kick-off of the INPHOMIR project, which took place on 12 and 13 February 2024. The event marked the beginning of an exciting journey towards groundbreaking innovation and collaboration in the field of photonics and beyond.

Hosted by Project’s Coordinator, GEM Elettronica, the kick-off meeting brought together a diverse consortium of experts from leading institutions and industry partners across Europe. Participants were treated to engaging presentations showcasing the project’s objectives, methodologies, and expected outcomes.

Key highlights of the kick-off meeting include:

  1. Vision and Objectives: The consortium shared its collective vision for the project and outlined the ambitious objectives aimed at advancing PIC-based hardware technology and addressing big-data challenges.
  2. Strategic Partnerships: Representatives from partner organizations highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships in driving innovation and fostering collaboration to achieve mutual goals.
  3. Technical Insights: Attendees gained valuable insights into the technical aspects of the project, including advancements in data-fusion and AI algorithms, which are poised to revolutionize data management and analysis.
  4. Networking Opportunities: The event provided ample opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange among participants, laying the foundation for fruitful collaborations throughout the project’s duration.

We also had the chance to visit GEM Elettronica’s labs on a guided tour! We had the chance to see technicians working on gyroscopes from the concept to the very making, and we also witnessed the quality assurance methods used to ensure the safety and proper working of any device.

As we embark on this transformative journey, we look forward to harnessing the collective expertise and creativity of our consortium members to tackle the challenges ahead and deliver impactful solutions for the benefit of society.

Stay tuned for more updates and milestones as the INPHOMIR project progresses. Together, we are shaping the future of photonics and digitalization.
